Thanks for responding. Well, I usually take him off the couch because he starts biting everything, and i don't want him biting the couch cushions, or me for that matter. When he does it is what is concerning me. He used to do this only every once in a while, now it is occuring more frequently. Sometimes in the morning, sometimes at night, but it is happening everyday now. I have not tried leaving the room when he does this, I have tried ignoring him which works sometimes, but sometimes this gets him even more worked up and he starts barking more.
