your boston may be getting "cherry eye," but don't worry. I believe it starts out with a certain infection, common with pugs/bostons etc. You can get a little gel antibacterial from your Vet, 3 times a day. You just get real close with your dog and maybe get someone else to pat her from behind and pull her eyelid down a tad and wipe a CM length of the gel onto the back of the lid. Then the dog blinks and your all done, give a treat after and eventually they won't squirm or really care what you're doing.
My boston had it and we did this and it got better. Not so red, a healthy pink. You should prevent her from rubbing her eye when it's red and infected like that because it could aggravate it.
