Default Obeying commands
Old 09-08-2007, 03:58 PM   #1 (permalink)

Shae has just turned 17 weeks old. I have taught her to sit and lay both on command, and it didn't take no time for her to learn. 2 weeks ago I taught her to sit and I was telling my son in college about it and he didn't believe me, he said she was to young to learn, that was at 14 weeks. Then this past week I taught her to lay. She will first sit and then lay, again he didn't believe me until he came home Thursday and saw it for himself. He couldn't believe how fast she learned. I started with a treat and then went to no treat. She seems to be pleased to please me..Geezze I love her. Is she behind or up to par on sitting and laying? Just curious.

that depends on what you think. a pup of 6 weeks can learn these commands but if you teach her at a later date that is fine! apup learns from the moment its born. but at 16 weeks the go in to thefase that they want to learn with you. (this has a name but i can't find the english word and dutch you wont understand..... ) now she will be open to learn the thing you want her to know. this is also the time the bond between you and your puppy grows and becomes strong. this is one of the fun parts! enjoy!
