Default Male marking solution!
Old 09-29-2008, 10:18 AM   #1 (permalink)

I love my new BT, but about 5 times (that we know of) he has lifted his little leg on walls, furniture, etc. After some research, dd found that this is common when there are 2+ dogs in the house. She also found this neat little thing, a waist diaper of sorts, also called a belly band. We got ours at Petsmart. It's like a cumberbun. It wraps around him covering his tinkler, so that if he tries

1. It doesn't work (marking)
2. He feels damp, not fun

According to one dog rescue person, who takes in retired studs, this works great.

Cosmo has been wearing it since Friday and the only accident he's had was this morning, when I took him out, and forgot to take it off - duh. It's in the wash now. And he's in the powder room.

We do have to check it often, to make sure it's completely covering his "marker." And in the morning, it's usually wiggled off. So crating him at night would be best, but he usually doesn't move from dd's bed.
