Default rolling in poo

Ok Guys seriously.. What's with the rolling around in other animal poo? Giving my boston a bath at 7:30 am after he has just rolled in some funk is not fun. Anyone else have this problem?

LOL went to the park with my friends and there dogs and one of them had a sheltie that he let off his leash, next thing we know he's down next to the lake rolling around in a dead stinky stinky stinky fish! LOL!!!! we all thought it was hilarious ...with the exception of the owner the only poo Pepper has rolled in is her own... when i first got her and she was going potty in her crate er... "house" now that was disgusting waking up first thing in the morning to find her and her crate covered in smooshed poo... good morning to you too!!! lol. luckily i think we're over that stage (knock on wood)

yes very natural for dogs to do this. My Chi and Mr. Snubbaroo do it. I think it's to mask their smell. Why I don't know but it is weird how they go back to there wolf days on occasion.

I kinda find this interesting. Dooley never rolls in anything when we are outside on or off the leash. Dogs are all around us he is just more concerned with "marking" EVERYWHERE. Now I'm wondering if he goes against the norm. Then again what BT is normal?

Nah, he's not abnormal but you are lucky. My dogs run free in the yard and have time to find things to roll in, like worms. Never poo thank God.

Rolling in stinky stuff is covered in "The Other End of the Leash" by Patricia McConnell.
