We paid $1000 for Monster. This includes being microchipped, AKC registered and first round of puppy shots. She also has grooming for life, but we'll probably do it ourselves anyway

I paid $500 for Lu-Lu (it would have been $600 if I got her registered). I skipped the registration since she's not to standard, and because I had no intentions of breeding her. Puppies to standard in the litter were the same price. The price included a first round of shots and deworming, and the breeder gave me a year health guarantee.

Rocky is not show quality in the least, and he was also older when we looked at him (12 weeks). He was listed for $525, but hubby talked the breeder down to $375. Yay, hubby!

Opie was given to us. His mother is a show dog. Opie's owner had intended to use Opie to stud, but at 11 months he was only 9 pounds, which she considered too small to produce show dogs. She underestimated Opie. He continued to grow and is now a perfect 15.

BUT - there are so many dogs in need of a good home. I could never, in good conscience, pay hundreds for a dog because it's 'pure bred." Opie is the only dog we ever had that was not a rescue - either from a shelter or off the street.

I just adopted my first 2 Bostons from a shelter in rural Montana. They were $125 each. That is the largest adoption fee I have ever paid & I have never bought a dog before. It took upwards of 3 years before I found the perfect dogs to add to my family...but they were soooo worth the wait!

Henry was $400 from the Animal Medical Center in Hattiesburg, MS.He was 400 bc he had been there for a month or so. I think they start out at 700 though. He came microchipped, with papers, all of his shots, 2 months free Advantage Multi, and a free Halloween costume (bc we got him the day before Halloween). The part of the medical center is called Love At First Sight and they have pure for sale and mixed for adoption.

We paid $600 for Mason, he is AKC reg. and had first shots, etc.

Olivia was more of a gamble...I contacted the family selling the puppies and they said I could take her for $150 if I could make it to their house before 8pm. I dropped everything I was doing and drove the 5 hours to get her...best decision ever. We knew Mason needed a playmate and she was so precious. A runt AND clearance puppy, but totally perfect.

I paid $875 and have to pay for the AKC if I choose to register her.

This included Microchip, 1st and 2nd shots & deworming, kennel, blankets, toys, food and a one year health guarantee.

They range from $500 - $1500 here in Alberta, but when I saw her pictures I knew I had to have her.

We paid 500.00 for Murphy. I could have easily gotten him for less since he was the last and a splash but I didn't want to take the chance I wouldn't get him. Next time I will do more research because I want another BT as perfect as Murphy

I paid 850 for charlie. Breeder's usual price is 1000 - she discounted him because he has unusual markings and she was having trouble placing him. But, really, I think she might have actually discounted him because he was sick! What a thing to do.

In this area most responsible people will never hand over a dog for less than around $200. Although it's illegal, ring dogfighting is pretty widespread.
