Hello everyone, I have been lurking on here for awhile now and finally decided to take the plunge and join. I do not have a boston, but I am hopeful that the family will be adding one real soon. So my question is...Are any of you from around the Nebraska area? I have been researching breeders and I am having a hard time finding one in my area. So was just wondering if anyone out there might have a boston from around my area or know of any good breeders close by. Also wondering if anyone on here has had any dealings with pugs as it has been sugg. that we should get a pug instead. I tend to lean more towards getting a boston though. Any help would be great!!

I hope it is was ok for me to go ahead and join without first owning a boston. Thanks a bunch!! Kellie

Hey Kellie!
Of course I am very partial in telling you that i think you should get a boston, but i guess I should be fair........
I really like pugs, too, and that is what i wanted to buy when we decided to get a dog. My husband wanted a Jack Russell, i wanted a pug, so we got on the AKC website and started searching for a compromise........a boston!
I have baby-sat a pug before, and honestly i think personality wise the two breeds are very similar. They both are very people/family oriented and they both love attention and playtime!!
The only negatives i can offer for a pug (in my experience) is that they lose their hair more(and it's a little longer) than our BT's and they can be really susceptible to breathing problems. I think BT's can too, but i'm not sure on the statistics.

I hope that was at least a little helpful! So, now go get your Boston!!!
