I think it depends on where you are located in the country too. I'm in Tennessee and the boston's here range from $250 to $450. I've seen unique color ones like the brown and white for as much as $700. I've also looked online at Boston Breeder's in other parts of the country where they are charging much more. The one's I'm looking at here in TN are also ckc or akc registered.
I'm still debating on getting one. I have a 7 year old female bullmastiff. We are very spoiled in that she's a very lazy dog and very well behaved. I'm debating whether or not I want to deal with a wild new little pup.

I paid 475 for my CKC 3yr. Black and white girl.

Paid 700 for my 7 month brown and white male, he's AKC though.

In the Ohio area.

Took about 2 weeks til the female warmed up to the male, they still get in tiffs over food every now and again but for the most part are pretty good together.

We got Buttons from a rescue group for 275. She is 3 years old and was already housebroken.

These prices are very low and I am wondering if it is because of WHERE you are buying your puppies from. CKC does not mean anything as it is a companion dog registry in the US. Of course, AKC means nothing either unless you plan on showing your puppy in an AKC event.

Being AKC or CKC (also the initials for the Canadian Kennel Club if you live in Canada) does not make your puppy anything special at all. If someone is charging more the AKC papers then they are not a Reputable or ethical breeder. They are only in it for the money.

Please do not buy a "non-standard" color Boston Terrier! Fawns, reds, browns, blues, Whites are NOT a good thing! Most of them have another breed somewhere in the background that is causing these mutant colors to occur. Thier health may compromised because of it. They are NOT worth more money then the standard Black and white or Brindle and white, in fact, should be worth far less since they are a genetic mutation.

Make sure your breeder (and I use that term lightly since most of you have purchased from a back yard breeder or pet store) stands behind the puppy for it's entire lifetime, not just for three days if it should become ill.

Make sure your breeder tests for genetic defects such as juvinale cateratcts, deafness, luxating patellas, etc. and can show you the passed tests of the parents. Make sure they will replace the puppy/dog in two or three years or more if the dog should end up with any of these inheirted defects

Make sure your breeder sells you the puppy on a Spay/Neuter contract or agreement. Leave breeding this breed to the True and Reputable Breeders.

Yes, you may have to be on a waiting list for a puppy from a Reputable breeder while the back yard breeder ALWAYS has puppies available or a litter due soon. It will be worth the wait and the slightly higher price, I promise!

why are you getting rid of him?! if i see my little guy i can't imagine wanting to give him away
i do think that if he needs to go giving him away for free is a good option. people ask a lot of money for a dog they don't want. people should be happy to get a new home for thier dog. i'd love to have him but i live in the netherlands and that a bit of a problem.......

I live in New York on Long Island

I paid $1,400 for Buster (blk/brindle/white)
I paid $1,000 for Bocci (blk/white)
who are both perfect....

for Bandit (total blk face/white chest and paws), they were asking $700 but I got them down to $450. She has an underbite, tooth loss and had a fungus on her nose and ears and looked like she was under nourished. Now the fungus is gone and she definitely not skinny any longer. It did cost me about $500 to rid her of the fungus but she has the best personality ever, worth every penny. We were more like saving her than buying her so the price wasnt an issue for me but I definitely got ripped off.

From what you guys say, sounds like I've been over paying but I bought my dogs from 3 different places (pet stores).
