Question boston nails
Old 09-11-2007, 03:43 PM   #1 (permalink)

have a 3 year old female, she's 25 lbs and not fat,and very active, all day long chasing and chomping on her super sqeeker tennis ball.
when I go in the back yard, she comes out thru the doggie door with the ball in her mouth laying it by my foot,so I throw it for her and she's quick to go after it and she stops on a dime to put it into her mouth, she's always getting sore claws ,from the quick take offs and quick stops, and bleeding out of the sockets of the claws,we have to treat them all the time and it keeps her from playing and jumping and running,so she whines and squeels when she trys to use the irritated foot. does anyone have a problem with the claws bleeding from the sockets? seems like too much muscle for the paws and claws.. or like putting bicycle tires on a corvette..

This is not a normal thing to happen with any dog. Do you keep her toenails nice and short? If they are too long they could be curling under when she is running or "taking off" to run and pulling on them.

Try keeping trimmed very short. I dremmel my dog's nails weekly.
