Default 1 yr old Boston sick
Old 11-20-2007, 10:32 AM   #1 (permalink)

Quick question for anyone.....This morning when I got up to go to work my boston was shaking (like he was freezing), and his back legs incredibly stiff. He didn't want to move much. I come home a couple hours later and he is laying down shaking and will not move. Not eating/drinking....Has anyone had this before? We are going to the vet today but just curious if anyone has noticed this before....thanks

Our bostons have been sick before and had somewhat similar symptoms. Shaking can be a symptom of pain - couple that with stiff back legs and I'd definitely be taking him to the vet as you are.

Let us know what you find out!

This happens to my mothers Bassett hound when she needs to have her anal glands expressed. Now she does it for her every 30 days at a groomer but it leaves her backend almost paralyzed until she gets this done then the temp goes back to normal and doggie starts feeling better. You may want to ask your vet about this. Most dogs take care of this themselves by scooting but some dont do it. Or dogs that have a soft stool are also more prone to this issue.
