Default bay area bostons
Old 01-28-2008, 08:55 PM   #1 (permalink)

i have been researching dogs for a couple of months now and have come to the conclusion that a boston terrier is the right breed for me. Im sure this has been discussed on this site before but i was just wondering what the average price in the san francisco bay area for a BT was. I read that people were getting there dogs for as low as $400 when the cheapest i have heard of around here is $1200-2500. i am aware of backyard breeders and puppy mills and plan on either rescuing my dog or getting a puppy from a reputable breeder. if anyone has any info on bay area pricing or a good breeder that has pet quality BT's could really help me get the ball rolling. the health of the dog is important to me not so much if the dog has good breeding qualities or show dog qualities.

I have many friends that show and are reputable breeders in and around the bay area. If you plan on doing it right and not buying from a back yard breeder or pet store, etc. then plan on paying about $1,200. - $1,500. for a quality, genetic health tested and guarenteed puppy in the bay area...

Young adults or retired Bostons often go for $800 - $1,200. but what a bargin since they are usually house broken and mannerly.

If you want to send me a private message I can give you email addresses of breeders to contact.

I have a litter right now and am in Redding which is about a 3 hour drive from the Bay area but they are spoken for. Be prepared to get on a waiting list.

We all know each other so we network a lot by sending people looking to those who may have something when we don't.

There are a few retired adults and and resuced Bostons on my site looking for homes as well. (or at least there will be!) I am updating today so tomorrow, go to http://www.thewholedog.org/available.html and see some of the wonderful Bostons available.
