Louie and I were at the park today and Louie bit a lady. He usually plays with her mini douchound named Marley. Marley ran off today and when Louie followed, she was trying to lour them back, by walking backward. Louie jumped up and put a nice hole in her leg. A few days ago Louie was eating a rawhide, he has been working on it all day, he was right near the end and it was all soft. He almost started choking on it. I went to take it away but his jaw was clenched VERY hard and I couldnt open it. I squeezed my finger between his teeth and he opened for a second and clenched down on my finger and wouldnt let go and began pulling. I finally got my finger out, full of blood and he attacked the other hand. I need to get this under control. He is begining puppy kingergarden next weekend.

I know this may sound harsh, but the way I broke my pitt from biting, and he was very aggressive like that, too, and it was a bit scary, well, i would take my finger, while he was in the process of biting me, and it doesn't matter where, your arms, feet, hands, I would run it along his jaw line, inside his mouth, till I got to the back of his teeth, at the gum of the back of his mouth, and let him gum on my finger, it hurts them, then I would remove my finger, and put my hands around his mouth, not aggressive like, and would speak softly, and tell him to love mama's hands, he would start kissing them eventually, and understood they weren't toys. He thinks humans are his toys, his playthings. You might want to try this, pitts are hard to break on this, and it has always worked.. let me know.. p. s. love your pup! Scooter's mom

I don't know what Lou is, but it's definitely not pit. Scooter's mom has offered a lot of good advice. Bostons are "ratters" and the gnashing and thrashing are just what they do. And they have razor sharp teeth. They are also stubborn and want to be in charge. Bostons and Aussies are high octane dogs - they need physical exercise and mental stimulation.
You didn't say what kind of dog Annie was. I'm truly sorry for your loss. I lost my Gus (a pit bull) in April and 3 weeks later Angel (shepherd/golden) died.

It's possible that Louis just isn't the right dog for you. If you decide to keep him, training is a must. Your library should have dog training videos until you can get him into a class. I like Uncle Matty. He uses praise and rewards. Also Victoria Stillwell. She has a show on the Animal Planet "it's me or the dog" where she does wonders on very unruly dogs.
Good luck.

Your puppy is very cute! But I don't think it is a full Boston. Your dog looks a lot like a dog I know which is BostonTerrier/Jack Russel mix - makes for a very energetic combination!

I indeed think your Louie is part Boston...I think your seller was telling you the truth..but I think I see Boston,Beagle there not australian shepherd/border collie!...he would have a different type coat, Anywho you better get the aggression issue under control while he his young...we just an unadoptable Boston here with serious aggress. issues....I can see NO pitbull in him at all..he's just going back to his French bulldog attitude. They were a foundation breed for the Boston. Hope this helps.

I do indeed think Louie is part Boston ,but I see Boston,Beagle here no australian shepherd/border collie at all...he would have a different coat...work on the aggression issue asap as we just had an unadoptable male Boston here for that very reason...they are very smart little guys and if they figure out that this is the way to get what they want look out...I think it goes back to thier French Bulldog lineage..I see NO pit bull here at all... I hope this helps.

What you have there is a Boston/Jack Russell Terrier.

Here's one at 8 weeks

You know I think I might agree about Boston,Jack Russel mix here...that would account for the quick temper too. There are alot of fools that are making this pairing...designer dogs my butt...still a mutt!!!
