My Grandma had some Boston Russell Terriers (mutt really) 3 of them when I was growing up. They all look exactly like Louie here. If its not Jack, its def some kind of Russell Terrier. There's no doubt. You have a highly intelligent, yet SUPER hyper dog. =) specially if he's young

I know this topic is a few months old.... but he IS a puppy. Puppies bite, growl and attack their world with nothing less than 100% puppy enthusiasm. He is not mean, he is not aggressive, he's a puppy.

Try NILIF training.

Definately start the NILIF, it'll establish his place in the home and let him know he's not the alpha. Puppy classes are a good start too. If he doesnt improve, I'd suggest a behaviorist. They can help you work through the problem. If he nips/bites, you should make a high pitched cry noise, and ignore him. Hitting wont solve the problem (I'm sure you not, just FYI) and ignoring him is his punishment. Dont let him come back on you until you say its ok. Does he sleep in a crate?

As a breeder i can tell u right now that he is not a pure bred. he has the color but the nose is way too long so is other things about him, but if u don't care having a pure bred than i guess it doesn't matter. just love him to death.

looking at the photos, you can almost see the personality spilling off the screen, he is deff a boston mix, and it is possible to mix this breed, its kind of a fad. I have seen bugs(boston+pug) Bagels (boston + beagel) froggies (boston+french bull dog) Boskimo (american eskimo+boston) and the list goes on have a look at the list
http://www.bostonterrierhub.com/boston-terrier-mix.html you will see what i mean, but yeah he is deff a boston mix

If you really want ot know, the vet can take a blood test and determine the mix it cost about 150 bucks or at least in illinois

Another reason why BSL doesn't work
Which one is an American Pit Bull Terrier?
There are currently over 25 breeds in the US that are commonly mistaken for APBT's. Pretty much any dog with a "big head" or brindle in color is considered a pit bull by today's standards.
Test your skills, Can you pick out the pit bull?

Pretty hard to tell huh? Well, the answer is NONE of the dogs above is an American Pit Bull Terrier.
If you think just because you don't own an APBT your dog is safe, you're WRONG. Any of these dogs could be and often are mistaken for pit bulls, as are many dogs that look much less pittie than those above. It's not just the pit bulls that are in danger currently, it is ALL dogs. Get involved and protect your rights to responsibly own your pet!

Here's the APBT - at home on the couch with her family like she belongs.

lots of good advice here and his current behaviour cannot continue... some other things I'm not sure were mentioned... whenever he attacks your hands, take them away, above your head and walk away and ignore him (he may think this is playing and ignoring is a punishment); when he bites, you "yelp" very loudly so he knows that he has hurt and this is not acceptable; do not use his crate as a punishment, have another "sin-bin" (such as laundry with nothing else in there that he play with) and isolate him for 5 minutes before letting him out (get him to "sit" if possible and give praise)... put in sin-bin for short periods for unacceptable behaviour. All the best with a great looking dog.

I think he is what they said he is. I see boston in him and the narrow long nose is very well from the aussie and his legs look spotty like an aussie color. I can see why some people would say the pit just because of the coloring and nose but I dont think everyone knows that much about dogs in general. I have people ask me if mine are frenchys, pits, and bull dogs or just plain what kinda dog is that. I have been told mine are small and mine are big they are the correct weight. I think you need to get him in some training because he must have had something go wrong to make him that aggressive. Mine never get that way towards us. Very rarely towards a another dog and usually I know why the are mad so I can fix the problem. Totally a cute dog though. I had a mix boston a few years ago and she was one of the best I ever had. SHe had seizures though and that was really hard to deal with. I think she was a mix between a boston and a pug everyone said she looked like a frenchy because her ears were rounded at the top. when dogs are mixed they take traits from both breeds and some are probably a mix because think of humans. If you have someone with dark hair and someone with blonde hair you will probably have a child with red hair or light brown.

I actually had a boston terrier and jack russell mix, and people constantly thought Cosmo was a baby pitbull.
