Just be really careful with the q tips, if you cant get your Boston to sit still it might hurt him. Most people use cotton balls with success, but if they sit still it should be fine. Rosco hates having his ears cleaned, I could never get a q tip in there lol.

Default Ear Cleaning

Yes, do be careful with the Q-Tips if you use them. However,I would point out that my vet uses the long wooden Q-Tips when cleaning ears.Ginnafer, you're right about them not likeing having their ears cleaned.Who among us would like it?It is however a necessity that you keep their ears clean,as dirty ears will lead to problems down the road. The ear cleanser will wash the majority of dirt or wax build-up from the "deep" part of their ears. You can however, clean all the little creases and folds of the outer ear with a Q-Tip if of course you can make your Boston sit still long enough.I've found that if you hold the tip of the ear firmly but gently it makes it much easier to do the afore mentioned procedure.Just as you have to "train" them to let you brush their teeth, they can also be "trained"to sit calmly while you clean the ears.My 1st Boston loved having his cleaned as he learned that I could reach all the itches that he couldn't.It probably depends on the demeanor of each individual dog whether they will allow you to do this or not.Plus it tickles somewhat.

Jada's tail is about 2 inches long and flat to the side strange but cute! Am I hearing this right, they are born with all of these different shaped tails? My sis's boston has a pig tail, and it is less than 1/2 in. long you really have to look for it!!

found this elsewhere on the web...
Hemivertebrae:
Genetic in nature, the incidence of hemivertebrae is highest in brachycephalic (short muzzled), screw-tailed dog breeds. The screw-tail is actually an example of a hemivertebrae formation. This condition may be pleasing when located in the tail but can have serious consequences when located elsewhere in the spine.

Mine has the little cork screw tail as well,I have often been asked by people why has his tail been docked, well it hasn't it's perfectly natural and FWIW tail docking has been banned in the UK since 2007,is always my reply to them.

BTW my vet had a job to find his tail at first it was that small, also another bit of useless information!out of 60,000 people in my town I have the only boston,I kinda like that

out of about 30,000 in district, only one that I'm aware of... generally interest and curiosity from folks... either regard her as very cute or seem doubtful... I kinda like it too.
