Regarding rescue fees - while you may be able to "get a puppy for the same price" you'll have to pay for nuetering (couple of hundred) and micro chipping on top of that. We're looking for a second dog also. A breeder gave us Opie because he was too small for show. We're hoping to rescue a dog from a shelter or other organization but we haven't found the right match yet.
