Just curious what people are feeding their dogs since I just switched over to Hill's Science Diet with amazing results. We've gone from a little fart machine to a perfect gentleman.

Hey Haley - glad to see you and Bucky found Boston Terrier Forums! Thanks for stopping by and great idea on the food poll.

It's funny, but I also feed Jake the same type of food - Science Diet. He was eating the puppy version until just recently when I switched him over to the adult.

I read that gradually mixing in the old food with the new helps them adjust to it and I have to say that Jake has had virtually no problems up to this point.

I would be interested in hearing from those who feed a raw diet if there are any of you out there. What are some of the benefits of going that route?

Hi guys,

Bender is on a rotating dog kibble diet right now, supplemented w/ eggs, yogurt, veggies etc...
(WELLNESS, ARTEMIS, WYSONG and INNOVA)

I plan on switching him to a raw diet, but need to do more research still. I do know this is the healthiest way to go.

There are a few good links on dog nutrition here...

Raw? What is that?

I feed Kermit Eukanuba and he seems pretty content with that - no problems thus far and I guess he's been eating that for 5 or 6 months now.

I use to feed Chubs Iams Smart Puppy food. However, he was having bad dandruff. So I told the vet and he recommended to switch to NUTRO MAX or ROYAL CANIN. I chose Royal Canin and he been on it for 2 weeks now. I have seen the difference and his coat is shiny with barely no dandruff.

That's good to hear. It's so funny - mine never really has any dandruff until he gets excited, and then it's like a snowstorm.

Did Chubs always have dandruff on his old diet or was it only when he was excited?

It was always! I lived in Arizona, so the climate here is very dry. So, he recommended Nutro Max or Royal Canin because it had more oil in it to keep his coat shiny.

Yep - a dry climate can do it too. Jake would sometimes get pretty bad dandruff during the summer and my vet told me that a little flax seed oil on his food would work wonders.

I actually never got around to trying it, but I will if he ever has the dandruff problem again.

I would check out the ingredients of the S.D.??? I haven't heard very good things about it. From other dog forums that I go on they say there is to many byproducts in it. I'm no expert??? My sister has show Goldens and I know her and all her friends stay far away from S.D.
I feed my pups Chicken Soup for the Dog Lover Soul-Puppy. I used to feed them Royal Canin but my Forum friends did not recommend it for my Frenchie. I don't know about Boston's but Frenchies can have a lot of allergies. I still have Katie on puppy food even though she just turned a year old. My vet. said she was fine on it as long as she doesn't start to gain weight. (She is a very picky eater and doesn't eat much) I have heard that Boston's can be little piglets, but not my girl?
