Default Soft stool
Old 08-18-2007, 05:59 PM   #1 (permalink)

Hello everyone!

I have a 6 month old pup that i rescued just over a month ago. I have tried 3 different hard foods and one soft food. (nutro, pedigree hard, pedigree soft, and purina one) giving each one a week to work. My pup has had nothing but soft stool, sometimes downright runny . I have even tried home cooking with chicken and rice with no such luck. Lately i have been mixing a lamb and rice hard food with chicken and rice (home cooked) and have had medium stool results at best, but still not where i feel it should be.

I have read that these guys have a bit of a sensitive stomach, but i'm not sure what else to try....

Any suggestions?

my boston had problems with all hard food. he didn't have runny pooh but poohd so much that he poohed mare than he ate. i tryed 8 hard foods and none of them gave the right pooh. then i tryed complete raw food. it changed his life. he eats it immediatly and his pooh is hard and he goes twice a day!

Thanks! I went out and bought some raw chicken medallions from our local pet supply store. (Natures Variety brand) I'm hoping these may be the ticket...

great! i hope it does its thing! because i live in the netherlands, i don't know the brands there. we have complete foods from prins. these are balanced diets that don't need anything else addit to it. you do need to keep an eye on that the food contains everything he needs.

Yep, I just checked all the ingredients and it does have LOTS and LOTS of other good things like veggies and even other meat ingredients even though it is labeled as chicken.

Guess what!?!?!?! it worked! The same day i started him on the raw food, that evening he had his first ever hard pooh. I can't believe what a difference this made, although it is quite a bit more expensive, at least I can take comfort in knowing that what I'm feeding him is better and more healthy. And he even seems to be a bit more happy

Thanks for the tip esther!

great huh! i had a weimaraner that had dry food that kost 55 euro a month. with my boston i pay me with raw food only 15 euro a month! because he can digest it fully he could be feeling better. he also may become more active or more balanced in his behavior! what food can do!
