Unhappy poor baby
Old 09-03-2007, 02:34 PM   #1 (permalink)

laats week i went walking with fausto. during the walk he yelled and had a limp. after a few days he still limped occasionally. today i went to the vets because i had a bad feeling that there was more than a little sprain.
and after the x-rays fausto has patella luxation. this means that his kneecap is unstable and slides out of place. he now needs an operation.
so this friday he will have his operation. this means 6 weeks of rest. WITH A BOSTON TERRIER? this will be difficult...........
my poor baby

Ahhh esther, so sorry to hear this

Poor little guy. Maybe the vet can give you some medication that will calm him down during the days, and help him rest?

that would be wonderfull........
tomorrow is the big day and i am having stommach pains already .....
but i know it's neccesary. he limps more and more. i'll just keep thinking that after 6 weeks he will be almost himself again. i might even give him hydrotherapy to strengthen his mucsels. he is now beautifully muscular and has a super condition. that will deterierate quickly......
but the specialist says that he will become better than he was before and agility is possible

wel the big day is over. he's been operated on. i was allowed to see the operation! very complicated i find a wonder every time i see an operation. that all the ligaments and veins and bloodvessels and merves. that people see the difference in a bloody situation!
the vet said that it all went exellent. last night he was very unther the weather. but this morning he was awake and alert. he ate a big breakfast and went potty!
it's now healing time and every day it'll go a bit better!
