Default Changing of Foods
Old 10-28-2007, 05:21 PM   #1 (permalink)

Since I got my new baby Maybelline (4 months old) I have been reading like a manic on all the different types of puppy food. And I have to say it has left me overwhelmed and confused. What I gathered in my readings is that its a good idea to stick with holistic/natural dog food. I'm currently weaning her off the Hills on to Wellness puppy, with the addition of some brown rice to bind her poops a little. My question to everyone is; what is the ideal color and consistence of puppy poop? Currently its a pea green/tan, I think the weaning her off of the Hills Science Diet caused this... but I'm not sure. Past couple of days she's been sleeping a little more than usual... could this be from the changing of the foods?

there a many diffrent types of food for your puppy. the consistancy of the poo should be hard enough to be able to kick it away. but not so hard that the pup needs to strain to releave himself. the colour may vary depending on wat your feeding. your pup should never be more sleepy while changing food. if you change the diet you can stop the dry food, give him fresh raw food for a week and then give him the new diet. the best type of food you can give your pup is raw diet. his bouwl is made to digest this food and wil prevent any allergy or stool problems!
