Default Itchy ears
Old 01-24-2008, 08:51 AM   #1 (permalink)

About 2 months ago, my BT (Bentley) started scratching his ears- so much that he made them bleed. So, I took him into the vet to get checked out. He didn't see any ear mites, etc. but still gave us some ear drops to help the problem. They cleared up everything, but a few weeks later.... Bentely started scratching again. So, I started putting in drops again. Each time, the drops always seem to clear up/help whatever is bothering him, but whatever it is always comes back. Every few weeks, he starts scratching again. Should I look into getting some type of ear cleaner to use on him, or do you have any other suggestions? Thanks!

The problem is not his ears!

He is most likely eating a grain filled diet and it is causing allergy symptoms. The drops supress the symptoms but do not take care of what is causing his ears to itch in the first place.

It sounds like a diet issue.

What are the ingredients of the food he is on?
