Unhappy need more help
Old 04-02-2008, 07:33 PM   #1 (permalink)

I have a stupid question do Boston Terriers have dander all year round or is it just a spring thing?? The reason I am asking is that my husband's allergies to Jay doesn't seem to be letting up ?? We changed Jay's food to Royal Canine ,I give him a brushing every day out side and I take a swiffer cloth to him befor I bring him in, I also bath him with deshedding shampoo and deshedding solution once a week. I seem to be my head against a wall, any other suggestions?? Or should I use HEAD & SHOULDER'S to get rid of the dander?? Need reply soon thanks

all that washing will only increas the dandruff! swiffer cloths have a chemical in them which is very bad for the coat of your dog! see if there is something for your husband to take. the dog hasn't got the problem but your husband! you could give your dog raw diet wich will better the condition of the dogs coat. but again it's not the dog that has the problem..............

what kind of raw diet are you talking about?? This is the first pup I've had so I'm not to sure what I am doing. I don't mean to be a pest,or make any one mad. i can use all the info i can get from you. jay dander seems to be dieing down it is not as bad as it was, my husband baught an air purifier that is suppose to remove the dander and what ever else is in the air and if this system works we will be installing a larger one, he is even willing to get allergy shots to help himself.so I hope this works. can jay eat mix veggies?? and what else can you recommend?

What does it mean when when Jay shakes his head? Does it mean he has a problem with his ears?? He seems to shake alot. His stool is also runny, my oldest Daughter has him for now until we get my husbands alergies under control could he have the runs because of stress??

take him to the vets and get him checked out. he should't shake his head a lot. could be ear infection. his stool should be firm.

hiya , he mite have ear mites ? or infection , have you changed his diet ??? changeing a diet immediatly can upset a dogs tummy this should be done gradually over a week or so , and can your hubby not just take an antihistamine tablet every day ??? no one thinks your a pest , i would rather ask than carry on blind , but bathing a dog a lot is not healthy for a dogs coat condition , stress can make the dander worse , have you tried adding a spoon full of cooking oil on his food really good for coat and skin condition or oily fish like sardines ???? may be worth thinking about .
