Default Ear down - 04-11-2008, 07:08 AM

Hello, I have a puppy named Cookie, she is turning 6 months in 4 days. I am kind of worried because one of her ears is not standing up since the last 2 weeks. When i got her both of her ears were up all the time, then all of a sudden the right ear is not standing up. What can i do to make her ear stick up again?

could be that she has an ear infection. this may cause the ears to drop. also if she is still teathing this may also cause the ears to drop. also if the pup is not pure bred meaning she has a registerd pedigree then you'll never know what the background of her is and there could be a breed with hanging ears mixed in her.

She had ear mites, the vet prescribed some drops that we already applied, they seamed to help, because the last time we took her to the vet, the mites were gone, then its when the ear came down. About the breeder, she doesnt have a pedegree, but when we got her, both of her ears were up, they came down once while she was teathing, but they came back up. Now i haven't seen her loosing any teeth, so i don't know what could be the cause, it has been almost 2 weeks since her ear is down. Thanks for your help!

Try regularly working the ear physically. Grasp it in your fingers gently, and fold it, and then run your it through your fingers and thumb. Do this a lot, all day, and maybe it will help. Good luck
