I have a female Boston Terrier, Jada, and she is my Baby! I love her to death and can't imagine my life without her!!! She is 2 years old and has been such a joy to everyone in my life, even tho, she can be very very excitable sometimes. My fiance just got a job overseas in Hong Kong and we will be moving there from Canada in 3 months. Everything I have read so far about flying Boston Terriers on an airplane is not to promising. It is strongly recommened not to put them in cargo because they have more issues with breathing than many dogs and the air quality and temperature is not as great. For a lot of airlines that is the only option.
It is also said you should NOT sedate because it also may affect breathing. The issue I have with that is she is quite attached and that is one thing we have not been able to change, but she screams when she is taken away from me and put in a strange place.
This is one of my most stressful situations at the moment because, even tho my family here is more than willing to take her when we leave, I can't imagine life without her. I don't want to risk her life by putting her in a dangerous situation and a 14 hour flight + another 3 hour flight. But I also would do anything ro have her come with us.
Does anyone have any suggestions on this? Has anyone ever put their Boston on a long flight and how did it go? I would appreciate any feedback at all!
Thank you!
