Hi all! I am new in here and hope someone can help me. and i hope i'm in the right place, i tried to start a new thread I have a 2yr old male Boston I've had since he was a puppy. His name is Beast or Beastie. He was sick w pneumonia when a puppy (almost died) but I loved him and nursed him back to health. Beast has been perfectly healthy since. The other day I noticed a small raisin sized lump near his tail (about 2.5 inches from tail), pinkish, no fur on it, round, solid, and doesn't seem to bother him one bit. I've read Boston's are prone to melanomas or other skin cancers??? Like I said, he's been acting normally--eating, playing, sleeping just fine. Can someone please tell me what this might be? I'm so scared of cancer!!! I LOVE MY BEAST SO MUCH!! I've had lots of dogs, never a Boston (had to have one after that cute Zyrtec allergy commercial, lol) and this dog is by far the best I've ever had!! He is my best friend!! Does he need to go to the vet? Please advise!
thanks so much..

Do you think it is an impacted anal gland? Have you seen any scooting or does he have a stinky butt (more so than usual)? It would be good to get checked out by a vet ASAP so it doesn't abscess and you can get them expressed. I hope that's all it is--it's no big deal.

Hi!

Hmm, can we see a photo of your beast's bum? Not to be dirty. It still might be worth a vet visit to get checked out. Hopefully, it will be nothing but at least you'll feel better knowing. Good luck. Lots of love to Mr. Beast!

If you could post a picture that would help us all get a better idea of what Mr. Beast is dealing with. Failing that, I would probably just keep a close eye on it, and make sure you show it to the vet next time you have him in for his yearly shots and/or checkup.

Our Duke has a small "fatty tumor" on the underside of his belly. He shows it off every time he rolls over on his back begging for a belly rub.

Have you taken him to the vet? If its an anal gland issue, he needs to see a vet.
