Default EYES : brown stains on nose/face

So, I have a rescued 8-10 year old deaf BT. My parents got her from a Vet over a year ago before recently giving her to us (since they've retired & are now traveling). She used to be obese, but she's a healthy weight now & has a walk 2-3 times daily. She even started to play last week

Anyway, my concern is this -- her eyes leak. She's not in pain & it doesn't seem to fit any common symptoms I've found so far on the breed. However, within a week it began to sort of crust on her hair: I have some doggy eye wipes from a pet supply store, but they're not quite getting the job done. She's being surprisingly good about letting me wipe & pick & scrub at her face which leads me to believe that this has always been an issue for her without actually being a risk.

Does anyone have any experience with this? Any better ideas? I'm considering just a warm/hot washcloth....

If the stains are coming from the inside corners of the eyes their probably tear stains. Clean her face a couple times a day with a washcloth, and you can also give her filtered water which should help. Sometimes it can come from their food, maybe try a higher-quality food if the filtered water doesnt help.

My Boston has the same problem. The doggie Wipes, are a waste of money Bounty (yes the quicker picker up) seem to work best if pre soaked in warm water and then dried with a fresh one)

It's also a never ending daily battle

Have you tried changing your BT's diet to a higher quality food or using filtered water? It helps wonders.
