Default Is my Boston normal?! I need help!

Hi,

I need help. I have an adorable Boston and he is 8 months old. Everyday when we come home from work, I will find the entire living room and kitchen in a mess. He is constantly digging out plans, biting the furniture and running amok. I know its becoz he is lonely but I am out of ideas. As much as we discipline him, he doesn't seem to get it. Any ideas on how to stop him from messing up? Are we doing something wrong? He is also very jumpy all the time and wants our constant attention all the time.

I thought maybe if I neuter him, he may calm down.Is it because he is still young? Will he get better?

Hope any of you can help!

I would crate him, we've always crated Ozzy and he loves it. Its his safe place and it prevents him from destroying our place while we are gone. I would invest in one...you'll see a big difference!

Crate training is your best option.

Hi,
I don't know anything different then crate training. I would have a cow if I came home to a huge mess and furniture being chewed. The only way to keep him from doing that is keeping him confined while you are not home. He could not only harm your things but himself... he could for instance chew an electrical wire..... Good luck!!

neutering wont help him with this problem. it only changes the hormonal issues. crate training is the only thing that will stop this behavior. because he has leurned to keep himself busy with destroying the house he will never leurn to stop this. when he has one success while he's out of the crate the whole crate training will be lost!
