Big Grin Addicted to Bostons Now
Old 01-15-2008, 12:26 PM   #1 (permalink)

Hi, I'm from Long Island and just bought my 3rd BT. I never knew they could be soooo addicting.

I never had pets, never even liked them much. About 5 yrs ago my boyfriend pointed out the cutest dog in the pet shop. My son had been begging for a boston terrier for the longest time. I have to admit this dog was cute but I had never owned a dog and didnt want the responsibility, didnt like hair, didnt like smell, etc. For some reason, this little guy was sooo cute, he stole my heart. Now I felt a bit guilty to get the dog because my boyfriend wanted it but didnt get one for my son. His answer to that was, let's get 2!! I'm thinking, "ARE YOU CRAZY??!!! You are lucky I"m considering one!" Well there I was....buying my 2 dogs at one time. How crazy is that???

That is the story of my male/Buster and female/Bandit. Both brought home the same day about 5 yrs ago. They are so close, one can't pee without the other one watching. Last Thursday I wanted to visit the new puppy nursery that opened in my area just because I enjoy checking out the cute pups to pass time. All the dogs in there were cute but nothing special. I seem to have no problem just checking out the bostons and moving on, even if they are cute. Well this time, I was about to leave the store and there she was....the cutest little face behind the cage, almost like she was smiling at me and saying "gotcha now b*tch" lol. OMG< that was it, before I knew it, I was on my way out the door with my 3rd BT. (Impulse buy?) These little guys can be sooo addicting.

I would only get a female this time because I did have trouble training the first two, especially the male...the leg lifting is a killer. So, this was a female, only 12 weeks old. I only have her since last thursday....we have settled on the name Bocci and since there are 4 of us naming her, we had some trouble finding a name we all liked.

Been searching out a forum that I would enjoy sharing with other Boston owners who love their little guys like I love mine.

Hello. I have been searching for a good boston blog website too. i found some but not many people were signed up. I completely understand how you feel. my mother got me into bostons. We had 2 dogs while i was growing up (not bostons) but about 6 years we got a boston named max, he was about 3 a couple years later we got another boston named molly. and although they were the family dogs and were really everyones, i wanted my own and i now i have Olaf. i never thought i could get addicted to a breed of dogs like this. and im sure everyone claims their breed of dog is like no other. but i just know the BT are so different from any other kind of dog. i would love to see a picture of Bocci do you have one ?

I just got an adorable male Boston three weeks ago. He'll be 4 months old tomorrow and he's a tiny little boy. Althouth I've had Bostons before, I've never had a puppy and this little boy's training needs are too much for me to handle with my physical disabilities. I want him to have a good home with someone who has had experience with Boston puppies. He's AKC, micro-chipped, has his own crate, etc. and he's free. I just want to make sure that my little baby gets a good home. We live in Connecticut and I would want to bring him to visit potential homes. Warning: he's still a major annoyance to other dogs.
