I just found your site because I will be getting my boston on saturday he is flying in from missouri. I am here to get as much information as I can so I can give my new little guy everything he needs. I can't wait to get him home.
I just have a question for anyone who can answer. I talked with the breeder and she said he is trained to use a doggie door. Do you think it will be hard to train him to let me know when he needs to go out with out a doggie door. Thanks for the help. Oh buy the way he is about 10 months old. I will post pictures up tomorrow the ones I got from the breeders website.
a warm welcome from me!!!! i only joined here a few days ago so im new too, training your boston to go outside should be easy without a doggie door. best method is to hang something noisy from the door (like some keys) within reach of your boston, he will have accidents, so when he does, tell him off and show him the evidence then take him to the door, jingle the keys with his nose and take him outside for a few minutes, works a treat with an intelligent dog, he should work out that if he jingles the keys he gets taken out and no telling off! also you can hear that he needs to go so no guesswork involved, good party trick too! good luck x
my boston goes out the same door every time he goes out. he eventually tought himself that he walks to the door and then back to me. he repeats this until i let him out.
