Hello
I am an Animal Scientist/Animal Ecologist in Overland Park, Kansas. I just moved here from Iowa and adopted a one eyed, 4 year old BT that was rescued from a puppy mill by a rescue group from her life as a brood bitch. My fiance and I named her Manoja after our favorite director Manoj Night Shyamalan. Their names mean "Born of the Mind".
We have had Manoja for about 2 months now and she has gone from being a BT shaped statue, frozen in fear, to a calm, snoring, lump on our couch. She is making nice steady progress and has very nice qualities. She doesn't bark, she walks on a leash already and will not run away off leash. She is already house trained and is going to start "Bell alert" training soon to help her alert us to when she needs to go out. She likes dogs that her size or smaller and has a tendancy to get trampeled at the dog park. For some reason she always seems to be in the wrong place and the wrong time and when she is scared she freezes instead of runs away.
She does strange things like... when she stretches she drags her legs behind her like she is paralyzed, sleeps with her eye open (CREEPY), and doesn't "play" with her toys but insted, picks them up, rearranges them on the floor and then leaves or goes to sleep. She also likes squeaky toys, but doesn't squeak them herself.
Manoja is currently undergoing socialization with other dogs to see if we can't bring out more of personality and energy. Get her off our couch I mean :D
If you have a small dog in the Overland park, KS area, Manoja likes to hang out at the Doggy park on 119th St between overland park and olathe.
