Default new pup having trouble with crate

So we just got a 2 month old female boston terrier. She's great so far i've been taking her out after every meal and after waking up or playing and she has gone many times outside.

Today she got away from us and went to the corner and let one go we immediately picked her up and put her outside. She wouldn't go and instead ran inside to that spot and went again. We gave her negative attention while showing her what she did then put her outside.
Later on she went again on the patio.

Now, we just went out for about 30 minutes and put her in a new crate we had just got with some toys and a blanket. When we got back she had gone poop and was laying in it. We put her outside and she whined quite a bit and looked pretty upset. My question is how can i stop this? Is my crate too big? It is large enough for her to walk a bit and last night she slept in bed and has been on the couch with us and has never gone in those areas.

Hey decypher - welcome to the forums!

First off, your best bet would probably be to search the forums using the search feature - just click the "search" button on the top of the page. There is a great deal of information regarding crate training on the site.

It's also important to realize that your boston is only 8 weeks old and therefore is going to have a TON of accidents until he/she matures (which could be up to four or five more months!). Just stick to a strict potty training regimen and in a few months, you'll be SO glad that you did.

Best of luck and I hope we see you and your boston around!
