Default Puppy Pee - 06-06-2008, 05:42 PM

We have a 4 month old BT named Lucy and she is hit and miss with the house breaking. Here lately she has seems to get spooked and squat and pee right in front of us. We use a stern voice when we catch her and the " Bad Girl" thing but its like she doesn't get it. We both work during the day and we place her in a crate with alot of room, I have read she should only have enough to lay down, because yes she does pee and poop in her crate. Any tips would be great, she is going to make a great pet but shes driving us bonkers.

From what I've read and learned from others. A general rule of thumb is 1 hour per month of age. So if it's 1 month old take it out every hour and so on.. See if taking it every hour or two helps.

Also alot of praise is good. I have a little 8 week old BT and I'm going thru the same things you are..

We are going through a similar situation but he won't pee in front of me. I had to beg and plead to get this dog so this is not helping with winning my partner over. He hates the dog because of the piddles. I walk him and he pees, sometimes 2-3 times but when we come in it's hit or miss on if he'll piddle on the floor. IMO there isn't a reason for it but i'm at a loss for what to do. I've got to get it straightened out sooner rather than later or else i'll be forced to decide between my pup and my partner!
