Default My Boston Terrier Baron - 11-13-2007, 12:24 PM

I got Baron when he was 16 weeks old. The picture is of when we first got him. He is now 23 weeks old. He is a little behind. He hasn't been potty trained yet, and he only recently got his eyesite. We have found out from our vet that he was probably malnourished. When we got him, he had been with another family for 8 weeks and they brought him back saying he was retarded. Baron is NOT retarded.

When we first got him he started having these what I call "episodes". He would follow the outside of the room and drool. Now I know that boston terriers drool to begin with, but this was dripping out of his mouth almost constantly, and it wasnt how he normally was. Then one night i was going to bed and had to be up by 4am. I maybe dozed for about 15 minutes and woke up to this stench. OMG I have never smelled anything so bad! I went over to Baron's cage and lifted the covering. The smell was worse! I opened the cage and ran for the light. When I looked around he was already out of his cage and I automatically picked him up. He was covered in diahhrea and now so was I. He never even made a sound. Usually he whines if he needs to go out. But he never even made a sound! I woke my boyfriend up and made him give the dog a bath while I changed my top and cleaned his cage. I took a shower after cleaning the bathtub from his bath and we all went bakc to sleep. 2 hours later he wakes me up again and he ends up having more diahhrea. Then I took him out again before work and the same. I went to work and talked to people about it and they said to look out for blood in his stool. It might be Parvo. I went home and found he had pottied on the floor and carpet, and It looked like blood. I freaked out! I called the vet and they got him in that day. Found out a couple of days later it wasn't parvo ! Thank god!! Since then he has started acting like a puppy! He still has his bad days every once in a while, but they are fewer and farther in between. His potty training is going a little better now. I hope to have him potty trained by christmas so I can take him with us to my boyfriends grandmas houses and him not pee on anything. lol I am so happy about things right now and things are looking up!
