    Default Lucy's corkscrew tail

My Boston Lucy has a corkscrew tail..the skin around the tail and in her lower back right at the tail is quite bumpy, dry and itchy. Any suggestions how to treat?? She is 4 years old and full-blooded. Thanks!!

Could she have an allergy to something in the grass? Did the vet have a suggestion as to itching?

the vet gave me some pads to wipe around her tail once a day but I've been doing it twice daily cuz it seems to give her some relief

It's probable some type of allergy. My Molly has a little corkscrew in her tail, the hair is different around it and shorter but she doesn't bother it, glad the wipes are working.

My Boston needs to be wiped daily under her (unfortunately) oddly shaped tail. We use a chlorhexidine spray (link below) on some bathroom tissue for the job. It works wonders.
