Hi Trumansmom, I love reading your posts and tips on owning a Boston. Thanks so much. You have suggested a book on a couple of your posts before by a Patricia(I believe). Would you mind giving me the name & author of that book? I hope you know which one I am referring to. I'd like to know an alternative training method other than the Dog Whisperer!

Don't want to bother you but I noticed you've had some problems with skin/ears/yeats. I think my 8 mos old is suffering from allergies too. Hopefully you can offer some insight on food. I can't do raw, I don't have the time or money. I just picked up a bag of Canidae, lamb and rice, haven't opened it yet. Any thoughts on Canidae? From what I read, you found that Great Life helps? If you have some extra time, maybe you check out my post from today under Health and Wellness. Any insight is much appreciated. BTW your dog is such a cutie!

Hey, thanks for all the messages! I love being on this site now and interacting and seeing all these Amazing Boston's. They're so stinking cute!!

Anyway, I was just sending a message to tell you I think Truman is an awesome name!! I'm not like most people when I name my pets.. I try and be original. So far I have a Moosh, Luna, and Chili is my pup. I guess Luna is becoming popular though...keep hearing that name! oh well, enough of my little rant

hey, i saw on dragons52's profile that you're in the seattle area?!? we live on whidbey, my parents live in bellevue, my sister lives in seattle, and my brother lives in north bend!! do you ever go to the boston meetups??

I have a question for you:
Minnie is behaved except when it comes to the grandkids....She jumps up on them and nibbles their feet. I don't want her to be scared of them but I was thinking of a spray bottle or should I try the can. I have tried having them make her sit and give her a treat and she does that fine but then goes back to jumping and nibbling. She gets very excited with their high pitched voices and squeals.

Any advice would be helpful.

I've been involved in agility for about 12 yrs. I started with my rescue American Eskimo to help build her confidence. Boy, did it ever!! I then did it with my male Vizsla. He's 8 now and we still actively compete. I got Raini knowing that I wanted to acheive everything that I didn't with my other 2. I want agility championships with her.
My best piece of advice to you is to find a good trainer. Keep it fun and light. Bostons are awesome at agility or anything you choose to do with them. Incorporate a lot of play into your training. Bostons love to play and I make agility into a big game for Raini, so she loves it.
I'd say give it a try. i'll bet you both love it!!
